This was a unique vampire story where humans and vampires both live among each other and have vampire clubs where humans can donate blood if they wish to. Patrick and Gabriel are vampires and also best friends. Patrick absolutely refuses to drink human blood unlike Gabriel, which causes the vampire community to turn down their noses at Patrick for some reason. Patrick falls for a human who he has working for him, Jacob, who has issues of his own. I really enjoyed the back and forth banter between Patrick and Gabriel. They were such cute friends and understood each other well. I love the style that this was written in because I had a clear picture of what was going on. However, I was very disappointed at the end of the story. It's a bit of a cliffhanger and since Patrick was my favorite character in the story I really wanted to know what happened with him. It's still a very engaging story and I'd like to read the next book.:)

This is an unusual story about vampires who are out in public and interact with humans. Patrick is a vampire who writes romance novels and Gabriel is his best friend. While out they meet Jacob who is human and Patrick is attracted to him. Jacob becomes his assistant until the day he asks him to turn his dying sister. Since he became a vampire Patrick hasn't ingested human blood....only animal. Unusual story because it's rare for vampires to not ingest human blood from a person or blood bank. I'm a bit upset because the story just ends. Patrick disappeared, Gabriel is furious, and Jacob is now alone for good.
Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
