A Giant Problem Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles Holly Black Tony DiTerlizzi Books

Down in the Florida swamps lies a giant problem. No, make that several giant problems. The fire-breathing giants are beginning to wake up, and only people with "the sight" can see them.

When the giants lay waste to an entire housing development project, it's high time for the giant slaying team to do something about it.

Unfortunately, the giant slaying team is made up of an old blind man, a chubby youth named Nick, his stepsister Laurie, his older brother Jules, and Jules' girlfriend Cindy.

Continuing the adventure from book one, The Nixie's Song, this episode pushes the envelope trying to cram too many things into one little book. You also get the impression that the author was in a bit of a hurry, as there are loose ends, continuity problems and far too many coincidences.

A quick read, and as usual, beautifully illustrated, but certainly not in the league of the original Spiderwick Chronicles. On the bright side, the ending of the book indicates that there's lots of excitement to come. Get this if you've already read The Nixie's Song, and hope that the next one will be better.

A Giant Problem Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles Holly Black Tony DiTerlizzi Books Reviews

You definitely need to be a Spiderwick fan. Like the actual Spiderwick series, you need to read each book to gain the full experience and story. Great reading for grades 2-6.
Perfect experience.
I got this for my son because he doesn't like to read ,but this book was so good that he didn't want to put it down.He would read at least three chapters a day. I would recommend this book for a child that like a good adventure.
This is book 3 of the Beyond the Spiderwick Chroncles box set. Its a must have if you're a Spiderwick fan.
We were in a hurry to hear the next installment of this trillogy, so I ordered from prime- next day delivery and did not receive the package for almost a week - made no attempt to rectify the shipping costs which is a big let down. But 5 stars for the story.
My son enjoys reading this book. Size is more of a paper bag just in hardcover.
It's okay...I'm just not too keen about the narrator. I keep getting these because my son loves the series. We read the books and watched the movie so this is final stop. I use books on tape so he won't keep asking to play video games while on long drives and it works so I'm thankful.
The continuing saga and just as good as the original Spiderwick series. We always sign up as soon as these series are available for our grandson, who loves them. Since we originally were stationed in Florida, we miss it and this book also captures the essence of the way Florida used to be. This is another excellent book for young people, so much better than other currently available series for this age. My wife and I enjoy it too.
